Spam Comments Don’t Work!

I get a ton of comments on this blog, seriously most of them are spam comments. I for the life of me don’t understand why people insist on using software programs to leave comments.

Software programs are helpful as they will find blogs you can comment on, but if you are going to comment on someones blog have enough courtesy to at least read what the post is about.

Also if the blog is in English, that should be an indicator that your comment should also be in English. Using comments to get back links and traffic is a good idea. It will work better if you leave good comments.

How do you feel about people leaving crappy comments on your blog?

  1. I hate spammers as well living links to visit a site offering a product or service or just saying great article blah..blah..I don’t mind giving out link juice as long as it make sense and relevant to the topic. By the way, it’s only now that I’ve heard of a software that tells you where to post comments to..that’s great but does it really work…just a thought.

      Hi Trinity,

Thanks for stopping by. Commenting software can be useful to find blogs to comment on. Ultimately though if you want your comments to be shown. You really need to add a useful comment. The only problem with the software products is they promote people to spam comment.

  2. The spammers’ aim is not to redirect some of your traffic to their site, which is the obvious initial conclusion; it is to increase their ranking in search engines. When you find that your site is the victim of comment spam, it’s easy to react strongly, on a per-case basis, rather than look at the bigger picture. These Rules of Thumb should help you keep things in perspective.
