Starting an Internet Home Business can be confusing because there is so much information online about how to go about doing it. For starters it is not a good idea to opt into every single autoresponder you come across the reason is because you will end up getting information overload. The main problem people have is there is to much information online on how to start your online business.

Let’s start with the basics
First – You will need to get yourself a domain name and hosting. Although it is a good idea to have a domain with your choice keywords in it, that is not as important as it once was. A shortcut is to go to place like GoDaddy and buy a domain name that has already been aged.
This way it will be easier to get your site ranked because the domain name will already have back links pointing to it. You can get web hosting for about $6 a month just make sure you have the ability to use a msql database and that you can have customer support via phone.
Second – You are going to need to set up a lead capture page. This type of page is designed to target your market and find people who are interested in your business.
Third – Advertise your business! There are many ways you can do this but a fast way to get up and running is to set up a google adwords account and bid on your keywords.
While you can start your Internet Home Business on a shoestring you will have to do a lot of manual work to get traffic to your site if you don’t want to spend money on advertising.
For example: Writing articles and submitting them to directories is one way to get one-way back links and traffic to your site. Another way would be start a blog, search engines love blogs and this is a great way to brand yourself as an expert in your particular niche.
Another great way to get traffic to your website is through Social Networking places like facebook , twitter, myspace are great places to start building relationships and getting traffic to your site.
If you really want to get your online business rocking, I recommend going where the money is. Use a tool like google trends to find out what people are interested in and create your business around that interest.

I’d heard about social networking to help get traffic, but I like the idea of looking at google trends to see what people are looking for right now. Hadn’t heard that one before.
